What is it? The new CLA is a compact, front-wheel-drive sedan that is based on the A-Class hatchback, which has been sold in Europe in various versions since 1997.
Though it’s a step down in size and price from the nice C-Class line, the CLA is not a tiny city Car (think SMART car), but, instead, is a properly proportioned compact sedan designed to look like a sporty coupe. In fact, this one is designed to look a lot like the $75,000-plus CLS. The first version we’ll see, the CLA250, is said to start at around $30,000.
Power comes from a new 208-hp 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine and seven-speed automatic, similar to the powertrain in the base C250, which we found exceptionally smooth when we tested it last year.
For people who rebel at the concept of a front-wheel-drive Mercedes, there will be an all-wheel drive 4Matic version for about $3,000 more. No doubt purists won’t be satisfied with that, either.
The interior looks upscale and trim, with black wood and walnut accents. The CLA is definitely a try before you buy proposition since the cabin will no doubt be tight for some
Prices haven’t been announced but we’d estimate they’ll hover in the low to mid $30s when moderately well equipped. Right now it looks like the CLA250 will arrive this coming fall alongside the A-Class hatchback.
What's new or notable? Front-wheel drive and Mercedes-Benz aren’t usually spoken together when talking about US-market M-Bs.
CR's take: With nothing to take on the Audi A3 and BMW 1 Series, it makes sense for Mercedes to bring over the CLA sedan with the A-Class hatchback. After all, hatchbacks are still accepted only by the die-hard purists in the U.S.

What is it? By all measures, the 2013 Lexus GS 350 is an update that promises further refinement and convenience features, but remains close to the established formula.
The new GS is the same size as the out-going model, with only the height having grown by an inch. Lexus claims the interior provides more passenger space and improved outward visibility. The trunk grows a reported 25 percent in volume, and access is improved through a larger opening.
The engine is again a 3.5-liter V6, with a 3-horsepower increase. The transmission promises faster shifts and four driving modes to better balance desired performance and efficiency. Lexus cites 0-60 mph times under six seconds.
As expected, the GS offers the company’s latest infotainment features, with available DVD Audio, surround sound, and large 12.3-inch split-screen for navigation and other functions. It will also use the next-generation Lexus Enform system that enables connectivity via a smart phone for Internet searches and streaming music.
The GS will include 10 air bags and anti-whiplash front seats, and it will be available with night vision, heads-up display, blind-spot monitor, and lane assist.
The last GS we tested had the stiff ride of a sports sedan without being sporty. Lexus has cited significant changes to the suspension and upgraded the brakes for the 2013.

Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis

What is it? What is it? Hyundai showed the HCD-14 Genesis concept at the Detroit auto show, which the carmaker says is more than eye candy.
Claiming it “might” be an indication of future production vehicles—like, perhaps, a replacement for the somewhat unexciting current Genesis?—the stylish concept has seating for five, and uses the 5.0-liter V8 from  the current Genesis sedan, matched with an eight speed automatic transmission.
The styling exercise has a number of over-the-top elements, with the rear-hinged rear doors the element most unlikely to see production.
What is new or notable? The HCD-14 Genesis uses a combination of eye-tracking, thumb controls, and gesture recognition so the driver can select navigation, infotainment, audio, HVAC, and smartphone connectivity functions. Hyundai seems particularly proud that the center console has an iPad storage station that keeps the device “secure in spirited driving.”
CR's take: Tech is good, but too much equals overload. We’ll see how much of this stuff makes it to production. And Hyundai’s talk of giving the concept a “premium-sport 4-door coupe road presence” makes it sound as if rear visibility will likely be challenged. Let’s hope a rear-view camera is standard.

New 6 Cylinder System of 2013 Lamborghini Aventador

The new Lamborghini Aventador cylinder 2013, which uses the same technology with some other series that use the automatic transmission system Chevrolet Camaro SS, Chevrolet Silverado, and Mercedes-Benz SLK55. The motor system of the new system will lock cylinder half the cylinders when the situation calls for fuel, and the remaining cylinders operate with just 6.5 liters of fuel. This procedure saves fuel machine 2013 Lamborghini Aventador will be fully operated only 180 milliseconds.

The new Lamborghini Aventador 2013 also shows some changes in the startup and shutdown of the system itself, for example, of power. Instead of using batteries, as usual, the system uses a capacitor as the method used by the I-ELOOP Mazda regenerative braking. There are many advantages to using a capacitor as usual batteries, including faster cycle rates and batteries. Furthermore, with the implementation of the new cylinder and condenser system engine power, soft start and stop, and the reputation of a car with low emissions and fuel will soon reach 2013 Lamborghini Aventador.
